In classic SGU fashion, this new episode of Season 2 picks up right after the events of the season premiere exploring the “aftermath” of the events, leaving more people on board, Col. Young and TJ facing the reality of their dead child and dealing with it in different ways, a new group of survivors causing rise for concern as well. The thing I love about SGU and always have, is a different way of telling the story and exploring the universe than its predecessors David Montgomery Bears Jersey , with it’s ability to build on top of itself without weakening the foundation it set in the beginning. Survival is always the number one theme of these characters and this episode jumps into it in various new ways and obstacles, while playing with the collective “Destiny” of the crew. With food and water supplies running dangerously low and tempers flaring, a shuttle is deployed to an unstable planet whose Stargate has been locked out of Destiny’s controls. Still recovering from his battered body that was previously tortured, an exhausted Dr. Rush manages to unlock the master code to the ship’s bridge. There he finds a planet within range that seems viable, but for some unknown reason, has been locked out of Destiny’s controls. With the need for food and water becoming dire, he decides to override the ships controls and have a crew shuttle to the planet in the hopes of finding much needed supplies.
